Windows 7 not installing via USB drive

01 April 2010 - 07:19 PM

Hi guys. I need some halp please.

I put Windows 7 Ultimate onto a USB flash drive using the command prompt method. During the installation and before anything is actually installed, I saw this message:

Load Driver_______________________________________________[ X ]

A required CD/DVD drive device driver is missing. If you have
a driver floppy disk, CD, DVD, or USB flash drive, please
insert it now.

Note: If the Windows installation media is in the CD/DVD
drive, you can safely remove it for this step.

I wish I could post a screenshot but that's kind of difficult for my situation, and I also haven't got a camera.

I prepared the same USB stick again using Novicorp WinToFlash, and I got the same error message. Then I tried another USB stick, and still I got the same results. Then I tried a different ISO altogether, and I still had the same thing happening. I really wanna install Windows 7!

What do I do?

Easy and fastest way to install Windows XP on Netbook

17 August 2009 - 08:36 PM

Hey everybody! I'm new here.

I want to know the easiest, fastest way to install windows xp on a netbook. I haven't got an external CD drive, only a bunch of flash drives.

I've tried a program called unetbootin, but it won't boot properly. If anybody has an easier, fast method, please tell. I'd also appreciate an install disc as a bootable IMG file. I legally own windows xp pro sp3, so torrents are fine. I have no problem writing IMG files to flash drives and booting from those.

Cheers! Thanks in advance.
