I was under the impression Windows Blue was essentially Windows 9. So therefore you would have to pay for it like any new OS.

Perhaps they're going to follow Apple's strategy and just charge $30 outright for the upgrade from Windows 8 and from then out out just $30 or so?

Until triple A studios like EA... Activision (god it burns even typing this ><), Bethesda (ok, that helped the burning), BioWare (ok a bit more) move to Linux as well, then we have a serious contender, until then it's still the sidekick OS.

A corrupted Windows system can't get infected if the user can't do a thing. That's one of the best protection methods short of exploding a MOSFET or something on the board. AVG is numbah uno!111!1one.
