Well, I'm not gonna do a full write up but this text editor is amazing for what it can do and what's possible through the plugins.
It's not free though, it costs $59 but the trial version has no limitations except a "buy" dialog every 20 saves or so. Not intrusive at all IMO and well worth it (or the money).

Everything said, the UI is sexier on Linux than with Aero.
