Today I went to see my friend's new PC and I was surprised to see the floppy drive there. I got to know that people still buy floppies where as years have passed when I use them last.

Floppys are cool. It's so cool to insert them in the computer and press the button to eject them :)

Cheap computers are still supplied with floppy disks. so it's not unusal to find some modern system computers with floppy drives. Doesn't mean they are used tho.

Not tru. High end pc's use raid controllers for the multiple hd's. To install the driver for that, if u are running windows xp setup, u need a floppy. Lucky that vista can do that from dvd, cd-rom, usb and floppy.

The last tim i used it was 2 weeks ago wen i re-installd my pc (installing the RAID driver)

note how i said cheap, you can still get a high end PC for little money, they just come with crap cd drive, and a floppy disk drive.

THe last time I used a floppy was two years ago before I got my new Compy. My old one which was running Win98SE had a floppy drive I would use to back up files with. But I must say while they are quite old school, Im glad they are gone. Whith today larger files there is no way they would be efficient to use anymore. So now I used CD, DVD, or my new comp also has an SD slot which I use also. I love them things they are how much smaller than a floppy and can store upto a gig in information! Haha.

My network connection screwed up, so I went to a cybercafe, but the computers didn't have an USB port!! due to "security" reasons . So I have to buy a whole box of floppy disks because they didn't sold them separately.

I don't see floppys around in a few years. I don't even think of using one. I only get reminded of them when I see 'em at work.
