GPU cooling ?????

I have a free PCI slot next to my GPU but if i put a pci card in it, a small Wlan card that just covers the GPU fan, does it cool enouch?? So is this a useles PCI slot? The picture is not my own card but it shows what i mean. click my signature for the picture of my card.

You shouldn't install anything on this slot. There must be some free space provided in front of the GPU fan.

Change the card to your last slot so there isn't anything in the way and then you can use all the slots

Well its a PCI-x GPU card. I have 2 of them (blue and black) but the motherboard manual says "if u have only 1 GPU card, install it in the blue PCI-X slot.

so that is not an option. But tnx for the reply's. Why does ASUS put theme together that close??? :cry:

Is there an overheating protection in GPU's?? or is it gonna be a nice little BBQ if it goes wrong.

yes it has, but some cards only turn off at around 80°C.
What you could do is put the card next to your gfx card and check the temp from time to time with everest.
Try to play games or other graphic thingies to test it.
