If you don’t have a display driver capable of running WDDM you’ll get the Windows Vista Basic theme which does not benefit from some of the more graphically intensive features such as desktop composition and glass window frames. This is a good, clean interface called the Basic or Standard theme, but lacking the glass window frames of Aero™.

Why does the the basic theme have a square start menu (Where the picture doesn't stick out)?

VistaCG visual style doesn't have galss effect and looks better than this.

Absolutely. it looks more Longhornish, which is not good. Remove the aero interface- OK. But create the good looking analog please. its your work, M$ skinners))) sorry 4 being so self-assured

They should make the standard theme more closer to Aero theme without the eye-candy effects.

lol just because ur graphics card can't support transparent windows dosen't mean that it can't support the user picture sticking out and the close button being aligned to the corner....

I think they need to have the Aero close, maxamize and minimize buttons on the basic skin.

imo, it will look even better.

the new light blue hue is great, but the buttons have to go...
