haha. to me, the first build had the looks (better than 7.5 in fact). altough this runs much faster, the UI is [...] one thing is good tough. The green MSN guy is being replaced by the old MSN guy again.

what's worse, you can't use messenger if you do not upgrade.

The green icon sucked, wasn't smooth nor pro looking. Looked rushed.

me too! I WANNA THE OLD ONE BACK!

and it's not bad...it's VERY BAD!

maybey someone should go knock on M$'s door and say: "Oh, for crying out loud, IT'S A GOD DAMN MESSENGER!"

-the contact card has improved tough

P.S ish the blue or the grey nicer?

You're obviously over exadurating...

I like this build alot better, far more professional design that the childish UI from the last beta. The status icons are back, alot better than having to hover over a contact just to see what their status is. The side panel tabs is gone, providing more space on your desktop and faster UI, although I think tabs should be thrown out completely. The new File/Edit/View... interface is nice, eventhough it was in the last build but I never noticed it, so it's good it stands out more. A bit simpler than before and that gives it performance, and simplicity is good, while the last build looked pilled up and busy.

I think this design is far better, and MS is going in the right direction here.

I just downloaded it. I went back to using msn messenger 7.5 cause messenger plus does not work with windows live messenger or at least not for me. But I installed the lastest in WLM and I like the this new design.

I also find the last build horrible, the previous one was better and really new! I think this one looks like it's only a "modified" version of 7.5, won't match Vista's style!

Good to see a dissenting opinion. I agree with you here; while the new interface is no great shakes, it's still moderately good-looking.

Any version of MSN Messenger is better than MSN 5 for Mac. Ick.

hmmm...i prefer rounded edges and they are obviously trying to save some space. too much space. and the display pic @ the top left hand corner (in the main window) is too small and the UI is OK..but not good. the conversation window transparecy sucks and the transparecy was better in the previous build / 7.5

C'mone you guys talk like MSN is youre life !! And i don't think this is the final UI ... so you can say that you want the old one back and that MSN is very important for you but can't you read ?! It's a Beta which means that it is still in development ! :)

I can't see why they don't just use the Aero theme as the UI for Windows Live Messenger. It would be a great teaser for Vista.

Yes... the Aero Style would be perfect, cuz it is the best combination to Vista :)
