When was the last time your Windows crashed or hanged and needed manaul restart?

Just recently my Windows XP Pro hanged and it needed manual restart. Might be due to over heating. Had it ever heppened with you?

Never, Windows XP is very stable unless you do stupid things that screw up your computer which leads to it crashing.

one time due to overheating, I had to replace the Power Supply once and now a few days ago it started to overheat again all of a sudden it started to smell like heated plastic because the fan won't spin....I'm currently running it without the case cover...I have to manualy push the fan for it to start spinning...also my modem won't shut up...it's continuosly making transfer data noise...I've turned off the speaker but it just won't do it....I think it's time to upgrade.... :P

I am running Windows Vista Beta 1, so i have had it go down on me once allready, but then ofcourse, i was doing a stress test.

I normally run either XP Home or XP x64 Edition, and i have never had either one crash on me.

Very few times. But whenever I have to restart Windows manually, I use System Restore so that the reasons due to which such hanging or crashing took place may not re-occur again.

No doubt Windows XP is stable but not to that extant as it should be.

Yesterday, when I had Photoshop and ImageReady both open. And I was playing an .MP3, and when I went to open my WALLPAPERS folder, and it hung there for like 15 minutes. So, instead of doing a manual shutdown, I played ACE COMBAT 5 until it unhung itself, and finally was back to normal. But, I need a new system anyways. My current computer is only a 1.4GHz. My new computer will be a 3.5 running HT, and also RAID'd....
