Follow the below steps to improve your performance on Windows 10 using Virtual Memory.

  • Open up Control Panel
  • Type in Performance into the search field
  • Click Adjust the appeareance and performance of Windows
  • Open Advanced tab and click Change button
  • Select Custom size
  • Set Initial Size (MB) and Max size (MB) to the value Recommended by Windows.
  • Click Set and OK to close the window
  • Restart your device and you're done

... So, this would be the same /similar as for all NT (& earlier?!) versions of Windblow$; creating a set-size Windows Pagefile? :)

Edit: Where the value of the Virtual memory is said to be best-set at 1.5x (one-and-a-half times the size of your physical RAM), so ~12288 MB and/or "Recommended" value of RAM, on a computer with 8 GB; as per,

"Learn Best Practices for Optimizing the Virtual Memory Configuration."
