Microsoft has admitted that customers didn't know the difference between the Surface RT and the Surface Pro. Showing off the next-generation Surface devices in Australia, marketing manager Jack Cowett explained why Microsoft  decided to ditch the Surface RT branding. "We think that there was some confusion in the market last year on the difference between Surface RT and Surface Pro," he told Good Gear Guide.
The next-generation of Surface RT model is now simply called “Surface 2,” while the Pro model running the full version of Windows 8 is now being sold as “Surface Pro 2.”
