Microsoft released a new version of its Skype desktop application for Windows today and bumped the version number up to 6.5. Here's whats new in the latest version

Video Messaging

Video messaging enables you to share life moments with contacts whether they’re off or online. With this release Skype improved the stability of video messaging and made video messaging easier to find with improved notifications.
Simplified Way to Add Contacts
Skype made it more intuitive how to send and accept contact requests. Accepting a contact request will now appear right in your instant message view.

I had previously heard that Skype no longer gets updated on Linux anymore, until I read this article: http://blogs.skype.c...-for-linux-4-2/ But its only 4.2 (does this mean its way behind Windows when it comes to features?)
