Why so many Internet Explorer 6 users are in China?

Microsoft developed a website dedicated to watching Internet Explorer 6 usage drop to less than 1% worldwide, so more websites can choose to drop support for Internet Explorer 6, saving hours of work for web developers. Check how many people in China are using IE6 and then compare it to other countries. :blink:

China is moving to Ubuntu. You see a usuage of possibly 0% of IE period and a big gross in Firefox :)

China GOVERNMENT is moving to Ubuntu.  Not every person in China.

 

Also, a LOT of the machines in China involve pirated Windows, I once read, and that the people are afraid that if they update away from whatever IE came with the machine, that MS will "find them" and shut the machine down remotely.

 

Because, you know, Firefox and Chrome, and heck, even Opera must not be available for download in China...

 

Or they have no idea how to use Ubuntu...

More than likely China will move to it. It's free and they don't have to steal it or pay for upgrades. Win Win (not Windows).
