Microsoft has just started sending invites to members of the press for a Windows 8 launch in New York on October 25th. Microsoft previously announced that Windows 8 would go on sale on October 26th, but the launch event timing matches a previous rumor that Microsoft may be holding a midnight launch event for its Surface tablet PC on October 25th.
