Google has released Chrome 21 stable that includes deeper Google Cloud Print integration, support for webcams and gamepads without any plugin and support for the new Mac retina screens, providing smoother fonts and graphics when web browsing.

Chrome 21 adds a new API, getUserMedia, which allows web apps to directly access the user’s webcam or microphone without requiring a separate plug-in. The API is permissions-based, so the user remains in control of which apps are granted access. Google describes the API as "the first step in WebRTC, a new real-time communications standard which aims to allow high-quality video and audio communication on the web."

Windows 8 will let you select 2880 x 1800 panel resolution on Macbook Pro. :)

yeah, but the desktop scales very poorly as usual. Some win32 apps don't even respect Windows's scaling settings. The Metro environment, is a whole different story, and it scales almost perfectly, all you need are the proper drivers, which I think the GPU on the Retina MBP doesn't have yet.

Can't we just increase the DPI for adjusting the scaling?

I don't think OSX has such a capability.
