Gabe Newell, co-founder of Valve, the company behind Steam and the Source engine games like Portal 2 and Left 4 Dead 2, stated that Windows 8 will be a "catastrophe" at Casual Connect, an annual videogame conference in Seattle. Valve wants to make it as easy as possible for the 2,500 games on Steam to run on Linux as well.
