Dell is going to sell laptops running Ubuntu Linux this fall. The first will be a Dell XPS 13 ultrabook aimed at developers and running Ubuntu 12.04. :)

The machine will run Ubuntu 12.04LTS for the operating system and is an extension of Project Sputnik. Dell says that the project will go from pilot to product this fall. Dell’s goal with the notebook is to allow developers to “to create ‘microclouds’ on their laptops…and then deploy that environment seamlessly to the cloud.”

Willi it be relatively much cheaper because of no license of Windows and other crap software installed? Or will they take advantage of it to take money themselves?

Awesome!!!

Dell will charge for customer support, but they should make it optional and sell the system for cheap. I'll definitely be buying one if it's reasonable.

System76 has nice laptops, but Dell makes some very good ones.

Ubuntu has grown so much and the software continues to get better. Plus! Developers are now making money with their softwares.

Ubuntu is where geeks' and common users' favorites meet.

Why you guy think it is not that worth?

It's just simply amazing and surely a number of people love it so.
