Microsoft has announced that Windows 8 will ship to customers via software upgrades or with new PC purchases on October 26, 2012. Steven Sinosfky made this announcement at Microsoft's annual sales meeting. Earlier this month at the Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference, Tami Reller told attendees Windows 8 would be available in October. But now everyone has a specific date to mark on their calendars.
