Google has released Chrome 21 to the beta channel for Windows, Mac and Linux that supports a couple of new APIs, for making richer web experiences in the future.

  • WebRTC getuserMedia API, allows users to give web access to their camera and microphone from within the browser, no plugin required.
  • Chrome 21 now also includes support for the Gamepad JavaScript API, which allows web apps to access input from any standard gamepad connected to the user's machine.
Chrome is more like an OS now than a browser.

Chrome is really amazing! Someone from Google tweeted last year year that there is nothing new for you in Chrome OS if you are using Chrome browser on your Windows PC. :)

I think only Xbox 360 controller and Logitech gamepads will work which Windows can detect easily.

SKiD Racer is the reason why I'm excited about this update.
