Except that's not true at all. The Windows 95 UI was vastly superior over the cumbersome Windows 3 UI.

To me, the same cannot be said about the Windows 8 UI vs the Windows 7 UI.


Windows 8 on the Metro side of things is doing what Windows on the 9x side didn't do: unify the UI. It needs some work yet, but I think once the kinks are ironed out, Metro will be better for daily use than the old 9x paradigm was.

I think too that release preview is good enough to be used as main OS... I am just asking me about software compatibility. Maybe it should be nice to post every software working fine on it (with version number, for exemple : Firefox 12, photoshop cs5.5, ...)
