Opera 12 beta has a host of exciting new features to make your browsing experience smoother and faster than ever. Highlights include:

  • Experimental hardware acceleration WebGL support
  • Quick startup with a smarter tab-loading sequence, smooth and stable browsing and 64-bit support.
  • New lightweight themes. Install or change themes at the click of a button, without restarting the browser.
  • Redesigned color-coded security badges in the address bar.
  • Support for WebRTC (Camera), HTML5 Drag and Drop, CSS3 Animations and Transitions, Do-Not-Track, CSS Generated Content.
  • Support for video cameras enabling new web services such as photo applications and face tracking.
  • Support for Right-to-left scripts like Arabic, Farsi, Urdu and Hebrew languages.
  • Opera Unite and Opera Widgets are removed by default for new users.

Opera is first with 64 bit executables and others will follow , how strange...

Anyway, 64-bit could be higher potential if JavaScript fully supports it.

Opera 12 has "experimental" hardware acceleration which won't be enabled by default. IE9, Chrome and Firefox have HWA from almost two years now.

Yeah, the only thing in which Opera lag behind is the full GPU acceleration.
