Still as bad as the beta =[

No way! Really? I'm about to remove my Elementary OS Jupiter install to replace it with this. Please tell me it's worth it :/

(my beta experience was full of random system crashes)

I just installed Jupiter myself! Loving that OS!

You're a year late villain but yeah, Jupiter has been the most stable linux install I've ever had. Luna should be good too although I don't like some of the new features they're putting in (like their app launcher)

I just woke up and upgrading now :)

The servers are definitely overloaded with these slow speeds. Probably going to take me 3 hours to upgrade.

Remember this is the 12.04 release. Things will get better in a month or so with stability. You have to remember the OS is fresh hot out of the kitchen. The *.10 releases are always the very stable releases. I also like them because they release the day before my birthday :) Early present!

I have the "mini" netinstall for Precise Netinstall.. going to install than then install just the base apps, nothing else. reboot, go to VT-2 (Ctrl +Alt+F2) and then do this...

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
sudo apt-get install python-software-properties
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:elementary-os/daily
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:elementary-os/testing
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:marlin-devs/marlin-daily
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:midori/midori-dev
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ricotz/docky
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:nemequ/sqlheavy
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install elementary-standard elementary-desktop adium-theme-postler dexter-contacts feedler footnote gaffel snap libgranite-demo marlin-plugin-dropbox marlin-plugin-ubuntuone switchboard-gnome-control-center plank-plug wallpaper-plug zramswap-enabler

then do this...

sudo su
echo "export LIBOVERLAY_SCROLLBAR=0" > /etc/X11/Xsession.d/80overlayscrollbars
exit

cp -r ~/.config/plank/theme ~/.config/plank/theme_backup
ln -sf /usr/share/plank/themes/Pantheon/* ~/.config/plank/theme

sudo reboot

Don’t pat yourself on the back just yet – make sure to select ‘Pantheon’ from the gear menu on the upper-right hand corner of the screen, otherwise you’ll get an error about the Ubuntu desktop not being installed.

To finally get Patheon + Extras running... So I can have "Luna" with 12!

I think I'm liking it just because I'm not using a mouse at this point but Unity has definitely gotten better. Need some customization before I can decide if I can use it instead of my usual gnome2-ish setup.

Edit: Yeah, judged too early.

This upgrade process is taking forever! I was hoping to be done before I went to my first job.

I suppose it could be because I'm running it in a virtual machine that i've only given 1gb to. But I use Mint 12 the same way which is pretty smooth, Ubuntu though is laggy and I have to turn internet off and on in it's network menu before it'll work.

Personally I'm waiting for the new Mint LTS next month, but then I've never been an Ubuntu fan anyway.

I love it!

Well worth the 13 hours it took to upgrade :)

The one of the biggest things I like is the big reports.
It's a first for me to see it tell me that the developers have already been notified about the bug.
The system is also very snappy as well :D

Awesome job UBUNTU DEVELOPERS! I LOVE the new UBUNTU!

So many crashes. :/

Gnome classic is still not done properly. Unity has a severe lack of options for me to even give it a serious try.
