Ribbon Disabler for Windows 8
Ribbon Disable is compatible with Windows 8 RTM
Yet another tool what i have created for Windows 8. Its Ribbon Disabler for Windows 8 Consumer Preview.
It allows you to disable Ribbon in Windows 8 CP's Explorer and preserve Paint and Wordpad working. Also it is portable application and has option to restore ribbon.

Now Ribbon Disabler supports both x64 and x86 system. I am finished x86 version.

Clicking on the link sent me to a page where I had to click on another link which sent me to a Russian website, where I couldn't find the download link.

Sorry I clicked on the link without reading your post. :D

Got it from here.

Ribbon is cool. Why anyone would want to disable it?

Would you say, even personalized menus? I mean, the option in Office/Word that lets you list the most recent tasks first.

I'm gonna use it. I think it will take too much time until I get used to the new explorer toolbar.

Personally I like the Ribbon, but what's the point of the disabler when you can just hide the ribbon with the arrow?

You shouldn't have actually posted it cozIf those Microsoft Guys check out this, they would then try to block these too...

Microsoft is now becoming a real s**t by do what they think is right and completely ignoring the views of Users who are actually going to use their OS.
Have they really forgotten that Windows is the OS which is run on most PC's/Laptops etc...
If they continue to ignore this fact, they would not be able to gain more.

Guys, i just discovered a critical bug in the code.

Every time you remove/restore ribbon in Explorer it causes wrong NTFS permissions to be set for some system files. It can cause other user accounts to be unable to work in Windows 8. This is fixed.

Please update to Ribbon Disabler 2.5

Also, you may notice that now Ribbon Disabler supports command line options to remove and restore ribbon. You can use it in your scripts :)

Download/update Ribbon Disabler
