So As I spend more time using Windows 8 I have discovered some features in it that, for some reason, I have not seen mentioned at other tech sites that I visit. And let me assure you, it is a Lot of sites. But I need to backtrack a bit so that you can fully understand how it all comes together.

When your going through the Install Windows 8 setup process, at one time, it asks you if you want to associate your login account with a Hotmail or a live.com account. No big surprise there, Microsoft has been pushing that idea for a long, long, long time, let me tell you, all the ways back to Windows 98 SE.

Anyway, during setup you can associate a Microsoft online service with your login, and I am almost sure that this is what “ties” this feature together. You see, I had an old Hotmail account, some 15 years old that i associated. I just had to notify Setup and then login to the account. Now, I did, however, also notice that you can sign up for a new account, at what time you get the standard EULA, but, also, you have to verify a CAPTCHA.

Huh, that's weird, I didn't get a captcha in my setup at all.

Just adding on, Microsoft and Windows in general doesn't get much coverage from mainstream media. Despite all the changes, alot about Windows 8 hasn't been mentioned in many of these sites, and frankly I don't think these sites are going to cover Windows 8 much at all even after it's release. That's why I follow Paul Thurrot and his stuff on the WinSuperSite to really understand what's going on with Microsoft and Windows. More often than not, he has answers.
