Microsoft might soon announce a new music service designed for its Xbox and Windows Phones users which will replace Zune. The service is supposedly different from the currently available Zune Music Pass, but details on it are scarce at the moment.

Microsoft is is set to make the service available for the public before the end of this year.

Yes way <_<

Personally I have never used iTunes - and that's because people like me, I don't own any Apple products, so I don't really need to use it.

However, I understand that many people are unlike me and actually happen to use Apple products, and yeah, to people with apple products, iTunes will never be killed, they'd actually need that bloat installed on their PCs

In fact, I find iTunes to be a bloat even on Mac (from what I notice on my sister's macbook). It's due for a re-write or something.

I use iTunes as my main music player (Cause i'm a noob) because it's so easy to organise my music, tv shows and movies. It also looks good and is easy to use.

iTunes looks great. Yes. Apple can go a little over board on resources. Still, iTunes is great software with lots to offer.

Imo iTunes look good on a mac cause it UI fits. On a PC it looks not good.
It is reasonable fast on a mac, but slow on a PC.
Yes it is "bloated", but also has a lot of functions in incorporated.

Concerning iTunes killer: imo at the moment you buy from iTunes, stream or pirate. I am not aware of other options.

MediaMonkey kills ALL.
I guess Clementine is good for organizing stuff on Ubuntu too.
