Google has moved Chrome 17 to the "stable" channel today, a month after the beta release. There are two main changes in Chrome 17, faster page loading with the Instant Pages and security improvements.
The Instant Pages feature of Chrome that pre-loads Web pages in the background as you search has been expanded to the Oomnibox, (Chrome's combined address and search bar). If you're typing in a site you visit all the time, and the address auto-completes, Chrome will begin pre-rendering the page, reducing load time.
Improved Security feature in Chrome 17 can now analyze executable files - such as ".exe" and ".msi" files - that you downloaded yourself. It's now more secure against malware attacks. You can read more about the safe browsing here.
