Windows 8 Music Player has been designed in the already known Metro-style. The music player will come with a touch interface, in line with the entire Windows 8 OS, can play music locally or from other devices, network locations and homegroups.

The new music app looks completely different from the Windows Media Player 12, available in Windows 7. The now playing screen of the Windows 8 music player shows off the album art and queue features of the software. There's also options to pin or open a "shop" within the app. Repeat, shuffle and save queue functions are also part of the Windows 8 music player.

LOL, that's why Microsoft doesn't want us to see these new apps. They are still under development.

Looks like MS consumer desktop OS development is dying, RIP

WWWWHHHHYYYY not develop windows media player into something special?

Windows 7 is probably the new XP and will also outlast its life cycle by at least factor 2, especially for business and desktop users.

MS up to its old tricks to use its desktop market share to force something down our throats, instead of developing a WP7 tablet version.

Will take a year before W8 ready and the competition has a 100 dollar/euro android 4 tablet in the market. My quess a full blown W8 tablet will never reach this price point and is a DOA.

that is beyond unacceptable, i'm sure they know that and they will be improving on it.

and this is probably the reason why windows 8 builds shouldn't be leaked. It is still very much under development and leaking these will only cause people to jump the gun and judge it - even in this thread, people are all like:

"OMG, RIP windows, fuck M$"
"Windows 7 will be the new XP"
"Windows 8 = fail"

seriously? it is a freakin' leak, guys, stop judging. Take it with a pinch of salt - we don't even know if that stupid winunleaked.tk site (apparently it looks they loooooove watermarks) is credible.

Doesn't really help that the person who took the screenshot doesn't understand the concept of subtle watermarking. Can we start getting screens from another source?

I agree with both of you on both points... And the HUGE FREAKING WATERMARK is really annoying. Another Source Plz? One that uses atleast a 40% transparent layer for watermarks, and not 90% opaque?

To be fair it isn't even in beta yet, so we have to wait and see. But those screens are fugly at best.
