Problem: Assume that you try to copy more than 10 gigabytes of data to a Blu-ray disk on Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2. In this situation, the copy operation takes more than one day to finish.

For example, you try to copy 40 gigabytes of data to a Blu-ray disk on a computer that is running Windows 7. In this situation, it may take more than three days to copy the data. However, this operation only takes about 12 hours on a computer that is running Windows XP.

Cause: This issue occurs because of redundant error checking in the Universal Disc File System driver (Udfs.sys) code. This behavior slows the speed of the write operation after a specific amount of data is written to the disc.

Fix: A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing the problem.

Hey bro. Kindly stop going around making pointless bumps. Thanks. (At least this thread isn't 6 years old)
