Kdenlive is an intuitive and powerful multi-track video editor, including most recent video technologies.

What the terminal commands are going to do:
  • Adds the new Kdenlive 0.8.2 your repository
  • Installs Git - Git is an open source, distributed version control system designed to handle everything from small to very large projects with speed and efficiency.
  • Updates MLT to 0.7.6 using Git
  • Updates your system
  • Installs the new Kdenlive

Open up Terminal and do these commands:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:sunab/kdenlive-svn
sudo apt-get install git
git clone git://mltframework.org/mlt.git
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install kdenlive

Enjoy :D

---WinMatrix MOD NOTE---
Please change Kdenlive 0.8.4 to Kdenlive 0.8.2 on the thread title

Yeah Ubuntu needs less of this if it wants to break into the consumer space.
Open up Terminal and do these commands:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:sunab/kdenlive-svn
sudo apt-get install git
git clone git://mltframework.org/mlt.git
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install kdenlive

Either way it looks to be a cool little video editor.

Ubuntu has done a great job with that. Kdenlive is available in the app market, but the one available doesn't work well with Ubuntu 11.10.
