Windows 8 to Boost Performance of AMD FX 'Bulldozer' CPU

AMD released it's FX series 'Bulldozer' CPUs last week which don't perform as good as people were expecting because of the hype. But AMD hopes that Windows 8 operating system will work with multi-core central processing units (CPUs) more efficiently than Windows 7.

According to a slide that AMD recently spread, the new chips show up to 10% performance advantage in Windows 8 compared to existing performance in Windows 7.

There is 4% increase when playing Battlefield 3 and Call of Duty Black Ops in Windows 8, 2% increase in playing Deus Ex: Human Revolution, , and 10%t increase in playing Left 4 Dead 2.

Oddly enough, I'd bet the 2500k and 2600k also perform better since Windows 8 is a bit more streamlined than Windows 7.

Without comparison, the slide is really worthless.... imo anyways.

Fail of a CPU. The top line bulldozer doesn't even beat the 2500k and it's more expensive. Just a huge fail.

actually i think its not just this processor line. i think all of the processors by both companies have better performance numbers on Win 8. I have a 48-49 fps on Starcraft II on win 8 whereas i had 43-44 back in win 7 on the same machine.

sorry i couldn't find a screenshot of SC2 running on win7 with the fps counter on.

AMD Fanboy here. AMD is always better than Intel.

Now that i have that out of the way, yeah, AMD, kind of upsetting. You can do better.

I waited for Bulldozer for months for making a Battlefield 3 machine. Now when BF3 is going to be released next week, I've ordered a Sandy Bridge. :P

I agree! You can turn that video to fit with anything! AMD should just give up the cpu market already, after the athlon 64 they have just made one POS cpu after another.
