BlueStacks has launched the alpha version of its App Player for Windows, which lets users run Android apps on Windows desktop.

BlueStacks announced that it has been pre-registering big-name app developers to pre-load their apps inside of App Player. This is especially important to developers who do not already have -- or do not plan to release -- a Windows application.

BlueStacks App Player has also a "get apps" link which goes to a list of about 150 approved apps that users can pick and send to their PC.

There's a cloud sync platform called BlueStacks Cloud Connect too that lets users wirelessly sync their Android apps down to their PC. Users install the BlueStacks Cloud Connect app on their Android device, and pick the apps that they want their PC to have.

Here's a demo video:

It is a dedicated Android Virtual Machine. Big deal.

1> Get VirtualBox.
2> Install Android.
3> Profit!

In VirtualBox, or BlueStacks?

I have a burned Cd for a distro that was all about android for PC, Android_x86 i think it was called, but it has been discontinued i think. It worked pretty well though. Never got past the 2.0 i think though...

They put Angry Birds, Fruit Ninja and Cut The Rope in the premium apps category which require the "pro" version. :(
