Some users asks me to release separate application for windows coloring, i.e. they don't like use AeroWallpaperChanger for such purposes. OK, its done.



Let me introduce AeroRainbow - little application what changes color of Aero windows in Windows 7 in random order (and nothing more). It even has no UI except speed control. You can adjust speed of color change, just click on "AeroRainbow Settings" shortcut.

Note AeroRainbow is portable application, installer used only for shortcuts.

AeroRainbow.exe /config shows speed controller window.

Use task manager to close AeroRainbow or run "settings" window and click "Cancel".

Edit - Sorry, that was my mistake. My computer was slowing down bcs of other program which was using 28 MB. It only uses 5 MB.

Unused ram is wasted ram, it shouldn't really be considered an issue nor slowing you down in anyway

8GB Ram here. i have never had Windows use more than 3, with a lot of apps running (Photoshop, Gimp, Several Explorer windows, .Net 2010, Chrome (about 20 tabs opened), Minecraft in the background, Portal Paused game... Makes me wonder if people even need more then 8 GB RAM...

Close AeroRainbow shortcut was the reason I asked for the systray icon.

This app is great hb860! I have a few recommendations, but pardon if they are outside of possibility.. I'm not a programmer so I wouldn't know

-Having the app in the notification area so I don't have to launch the shortcut to change settings?
-Ability to control what colors the window borders are changed to?

Personally, the memory usage, and even though I "only" (quoted because tbh the only reason I'll upgrade is for future usage of this computer) have 4 GB of RAM, is very low at 5 mb and I really like the effect that you make out of it. Regardless of the possible changes you could make of this app, I really like it. Great job!

As i promised above, new freshy fresh AeroRainbow avaliable for download, featured with:
Tray icon
Tray icon has handy context menu.


Color preview
Left click on tray icon and you will see this:

Note what right ("Next") color box is clickable and next color will be changed.

New options in settings
There two rules for colors available in version 2.0:
Always random color tells to AeroRainbow generate and use random color for Aero Glass.
Use the colors list option allows you to add your favoraite colors to list, and AeroRainbow will use them for Aero Glass.


You can disable tray icon and use old good shortcuts. Enjoy.
