Yeah, but how does it look on Win7? Does it at least conform to Windows development standards? Is the Open/Save dialog boxed fixed yet?

I don't mind GIMP in it's current state...because....hey...it's free...

Gimp 2.8 has been talked about for the past two years... They still have issues with some of the code, and from what i understand a while back a major code writer left them, leaving 2.8 delayed. All that i want is the single window display w/tab previews per pic.

Also, seeing as how i have merged all of the "toolbars" / boxes in to one window, when this new version hits, i will have a lot of free space for the one window setting.

You can already get 2.7 (which has the single window mode and tabbed previews) via ppa...

Yea, but it's not ready for stable use.

Nice GUI. Gimp is going in the right direction.

Yep. The thumbnails remind me of Paint.NET.

I can't wait to use the stable version of this. Especially, when I need to guillotine website and graphic designs. Those Windows pop up everywhere on the desktop. I want to test this out, but I have to much work to do and GIMP is one of the main three things I use for work.

One window is nice, but not much gui work, just a dark gray color like adobe photoshop elements.

Still better than it was and probably all it can squeeze out of GTK.

Blender's UI is bad ass! GIMP 2.8 is still in development. I'm sure new icons are coming. If not, I wouldn't care. I just like the fact that GIMP works and has a good design. GREAT design would be appreciated though.

Since when is Blender's UI badass?! It has to be the least intuitive menu system of all time. Now 3DS Max, on the other hand, has a great UI, as do all other Autodesk products.
