I've voted Security Essentials necause it's lightweight, fast and it does what it needs to do.

MSE, easily, AVG is a joke, Avast is a damn good option, and Avira is still "stronger" than MSE, but those popups to buy the full version can be annoying >.>

Everything else = lol :P

I use Avast for the last 10 years, I have full confidence it the developers. However at some point I switched to Microsoft Security Essentials just to see what they got, and overall it's a good piece of software, but it was a little bit slower than Avast, plus the fact that Avast did never let me down resulted in Avast's favor. But MSE is the closest to Avast, so if they ever decide to take the path of TuneUp Utilities (that means a fat-slow-incompetent-crapware that do more damage than good) I'll switch to MSE.

Wow never knew MSE was so good - I've been an Avast user and am happy with the home edition, but maybe I should try our MSE some time

The only ones out of those i've used is Avast and Avira, although i assume ClamWin is just the Windows version of ClamAv, which i was i use now. Avast is the worst anti-virus i've ever had expect for McAfee. Avira worked quite well when i used that though, so i voted for Avira

the problem is that you can't pause your scans in MSE, even the in v2 beta...

Can you with others? I've never heard of an anti-virus with pausable scans. Why would you need to anyway?

I'm not sure when but Avast has a new interface and probably new everything but yea, usually when a AV lets you down, you hate it forever :P
