Microsoft released a beta version of Windows 7 SP1 on June 22nd.

In an email to technical beta testers, the Windows Customer Connection Team confirmed the release of the Service Pack in English, German, Japanese, French and Spanish editions. Weighing in at 1.22GB the build was compiled on June 3 with the number 7601.16562.100603-1800.

Microsoft has started posting content designed to help testers take Windows 7 SP1 Beta out for a spin. The “Troubleshoot problems installing a service pack for Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2” from Windows Help is an illustrative example in this regard.

Microsoft is planning to release a public beta of Windows 7 SP1 and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 by the end of July.

I'll pass it and wait for the final version. There are no new feature and my OS doesn't need any fixes.

I think it's because Windows 7's "sleep" is different than XP - I'm not really sure because there's like sleep, hibernation and stuff, but I remember when I close my laptop lid, and it goes into whatever mode, when I open up my laptop, I have to wait for the internet to come back on. So it's probably just Windows 7's way of doing things - and tbh, 10-15 seconds won't kill you

10-15 seconds won't kill you except for some time when you need to check something real quick. Not a big deal anyawy. It's just that I like optimizing everything.
