EDIT: New one up.
I saw a thread with a windows 8 concept design and I was inspired to make my own... Click to make image full size.

I haven't put much work into it but I'm getting there, hopefully the ugly power button will disappear.

Great concept but doesn't fit into the Windows 8 theme.

I know that but I wanted to get a new take on the metro theme MS introduced for their mobile platform. Mainly I just started hating aero and wanted to move the concept towards a minimal direction.

What exactly is the "SHO", "RTC" thing on the top left corner - and how can you hate areo - Aero is awesome on Windows 7

'SHORTCUT' I'm using those as place holders until I put content in :D. I've been looking at aero since 2006 and frankly I'm tired of it now. I need to see some block colours and minimalism.

Thanks, glad to see others agree with me on the subject of aero. Oh and the new version is up although I'm still working on the explorer window.

Looks like incomplete work. That interface perhaps fits well on a tablet.

Looks nice but far too minimalistic for wide consumer use.

I like your concept. You can make it a reality Samurize.

I like it, but you should make your own " Windows 8 Concept" Wallpaper :)

This concept fails at the first hurdle: usability.

You're trying to reinvent the wheel. I'm not the biggest fan of Aero and I would like to see a return to a clean minimal style, but getting rid of all the core features that everyone knows is a totally wrong way to go about making changes. An operating system is not a pretty screenshot, it is first and foremost an operating system. Don't lose sight of that.

I suggest you read up on User Interface Design a bit before doing any more work on your concept.

UI without shadow looks less interesting than it deserves.

I hope this isn't for Samurize

because I can't make that thing stick to desktop after Win+d (I managed to use the powershell for preventing AeroPeek hide)
