The IE team is busy working on the next version of the world's most popular browser. IE 9 is currently in the oven and the IE team is ready to talk about what they're working on. Here, JavaScript engine team members give us an early look at the new JS engine that will ship with IE 9.
As of the interview, it is on par with the latest performance numbers of the latest Firefox beta and making progress in catching up to Chrome's latest V8. Again, this is a really early look at where the JS engine is and where it's going (and what they've done, architecturally, to speed up IE's JS engine).

so.. they are making another version of the world's most unsecure browser.
why dont they just pirate the firefox and chrome code, and use it as the "new" trident engine?
i mean, seriously, i dont give a damn how fast a javascript engine is, no one uses that much JS in a webpage enough to see a noticible difference anyway.
the team, it seems to me, is going "hey, look, we are catching up with them" when they should be going "hey, look, ours is 4x more faster, and here is the proof"
playing catchup dont mean squat, they should be going for beating them.

You know that IE (talking about 7 and 8) is much more secure than Firefox, right?

that is one of the reasons i moved over to chrome. other than the giant speed increase.

Chrome is by far the best browser for everyday users. I don't code, I don't blog.
I just need it for forums, facebook and a few flash games or some videos. Chrome is the fastest in all of these.

Those of you putting so little weight on the running speed of javascript, may want to check out eBay.

Yeah, In Vista and Windows 7 its the most secure browser because it runs in a sandbox. Unless you manually right click and hit run as administrator.

I know right.
I mean it's not like any other browsers get security vulnerabilities right?
