According to Wzor, Microsoft has been hard at work on Windows 7 SP1 since the end of September 2009.

At the start of 2010, members of the company’s Technology Adoption Program around Windows 7 will be the first to get access to the SP1 Beta bits. But end users won’t have very much to wait either. The Redmond company will reportedly release a public Beta of Windows 7 SP1 early in January 2010.

Microsoft has planned two Beta and a couple of Release Candidate (RC) development milestones for Windows 7 SP1. The general availability of Windows 7 SP1 RTM is apparently planned for autumn 2010, however, the service pack will be finalized much sooner, in mid-2010.

Haha.. Yeah.. but maybe they can fix the wifi signal on the taskbar.. it really annoys me because the icon updates slowly, i had to click on the icon to check whether the actual signal on the taskbar same as the actual signal on properties/menu

Lucky you, my router is in my sister room.. i only got up to 4 bars.. btw, have you seen the way Ubuntu search the wireless signal when it got disconnected, i wished M$ can do that too. In Windows 7, sometimes the wireless doesn't connect automatically and i had to do it manually.. I bet there something wrong with Windows 7 Wireless function.
1. Slow reconnect after wireless disconnected - sometimes i had to manually connect it..
2. Wireless taskbar icon updates inaccurately.
3. Lack of fast automatic wireless search after disconnected unlike Ubuntu which is very fast recovery after disconnected..

Yea windows is moody with me sometimes. Like, the wireless sometimes doesnt connect so I have to use the "repair" connection option. It happens less and less though, it could be your card or you router.

My reconnections are automatic and take a decent amount of time, not what I would say is long though. Maybe like 5-10 seconds usually 5.

I also have a ten foot router though, so I cant get wirless downstairs :(
