Should I get a Windows 7 x64 or get a Windows Vista x86?

I'm deciding on what I should get. Vista looks fun but 7 looks even better.

Windows 7 x64 if your hardware supports it. Otherwise go with x86. Windows 7 is better than Vista by a long shot.

I dont think it's 64 bit since the ram can only go upto 4gb,

nope its 64 bit, its a good buy but it's kinda dated, your also getting it really cheap. I'd go for it

The system specs show 2gb of ram. Question is are you going to upgrade the ram above that? If not I recommend the 32 bit os.

The one thing I like about win7 is the fading wallpaper slideshow. Other than that...it's no better than my Vista. Matter of fact, I don't know if there's a problem with the 64/32bit win7 upgrade, but I've experienced problems with both. Specifically, the boot-up glitches and then freezes at the flag logo, which stays put an pulsates forever. I have to cold re-start once or several times just to get up and running again. Also, my Firefox completely quite working with 64bit. I've returned to win7 32bit, since the majority of programs I run are not designed (though most still work) for 64bit. As far as speed difference between 32/64bit...I don't notice one bit. One last thing, while browsing sites and installing my good software on win7 64bit, I picked up a virus/trojan/tracking cookies, etc. from somewhere...who knows where; a bad site maybe. That was with antivirus running, malwarebytes, windows firewall & defender. What the F@#$! Make you wonder whether windows defender is worth running. I think not. Windows firewall is questionable too.

Bottom line: Go with Win7 64/32. You should be happy with either.
