BumpTop is a 3D Desktop Organizer which allows you to keep your computer desktop organized and productive similar to a real desktop.

You can perform functions like file-stacking, pin-up reminders, tossing files for easy emailing, printing, copying and even uploading to social-media networks.

It also works with touch-screen enabled computers running Windows 7 so you can use touch-gestures to perform these functions.

Ofcourse you must be having enough RAM to spare for this beauty, and if you have that much memory then you can drag, pile and toss just like in Microsoft Surface. The best thing about BumpTop is that it works with touch-screen enabled computers running Windows 7 allowing you to use touch-gestures to perform these functions.

It is developed by Anand Agarawala and it took him 2 years of beta testing before releasing the software to public at TED 2009. Have a look at this video for more details.

BumpTop is currently available for Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7 in two versions Free and Paid Pro.

if the icons are 3D it will be cool. This program only makes you realize that the icons are flat.

No, I mean without BumpTop, the icons don't look pasted on a wall right? with bumptop, they look like stickers on the ceiling.

Well, I think thats kind of the idea.

Wallpaper is two dimensional in real life as are posters, etc.

Papers on a desktop are two dimensional, etc.

My issues with such "3d" environments is that it makes things look messy, and I don't find that intuitive at all. I would find bulging icons less intuitive in that respect, as well.

This program is of no use unless you have a multitouch monitor.
