Several WinMatrixians have reported that Microsoft has shipped Windows 7 house party packs. So what's in this pack?

The pack includes the following items:

  • Windows 7 tote bags
  • Windows 7 branded napkins
  • Puzzle Pack
  • Windows 7 Playing Cards
  • Colour Poster
  • Windows 7 Signature Edition

All Windows 7 party hosts are expected to receive their packs by October 10.

If you attend one of their all day events you get the party pack with a free copy of 7 Ultimate included in it without the need for hosting one later! The black labeling is for the "Special Edition" not for resale edition you get there. This is what I got in one of their launch tour newsletters.

One of the launch parties is an hour away from where I live. Can you be a regular person and walk in or do you have to work for some company?

The MS Partners attend certain other events while the launch parties saw a limited number of seats for anyone to attend. You had to work fast to get a seat however!

It's black because it's Ultimate version.

I just got the MS partners newsletter in today with "Each attendee will be eligible to purchase one kit only. More details are coming soon." for those attending a launch event. That was seen under the "Other Attraction" title which goes:

Quote

Engage with authorized distributors on site, presenting exciting bundled offers.

Be eligible to purchase a complete DIY Kit at a very attractive price.

The DIY Kit contains:

  • One full, not-for-resale copy of Windows 7 Ultimate
  • AMD Athlon II X4 620 quad-core processor
  • Asus motherboard with AMD 785G integrated graphics chipset
Each attendee will be eligible to purchase one kit only. More details are coming soon.

Here's how the letter starts off.

The Microsoft and AMD Ready to Launch Tour is coming to a city near you!

Discover exciting new technologies from Microsoft and AMD for consumers and small to midsize businesses—and see what the buzz is all about! This full-day, energy-filled event will introduce you to new products, tools, and resources offered by both AMD and Microsoft. Through interactive and highly informative sessions, we'll introduce key selling scenarios and opportunities that you can seize immediately.

See first hand:

  • Why Windows 7 is the best cutting-edge solution for consumers and small to midsize businesses. Windows 7 is more responsive, enables users to get more out of their PCs, prevents security threats, and safeguards data loss while making it possible for users to spend time on the things that matter most to them. Now, with Windows 7, the PC is simplified.
  • How consumers and businesses running Windows 7 on AMD technology-based PCs can achieve an advanced visually dynamic, powerful, and rich computing experience on a stable and consistent platform.
  • What's new with Windows Server 2008 R2, and how its new Web tools, virtualization technologies, security enhancements, management utilities and integration with Windows 7 can help your customers save time and reduce costs, all while providing a solid foundation for their information technology (IT) infrastructure.
You then see the itenuary and where the events are being held.
