The Compatible With Windows 7 Logo is designed to help customers make better purchase decisions by identifying products that have passed Microsoft designed tests for compatibility and reliability with Windows 7. For Windows 7, Microsoft made a number of changes to the Logo criteria and the process for granting Logo status. The goal is to make the “Compatible with Windows 7 Logo” about the customer and ensuring them the best experience possible with Windows.

Hardware and software products that receive Compatible with Windows 7 Logo offer many advantages for customers:

* It is very easy to identify products that are for Windows 7. The logo will appear on packaging and on retailer websites
* Devices that carry the logo will work seamlessly. For example, a digital camera will automatically transfer photos or a wireless router will easily be set up in minutes and you can add a wireless device to Windows 7 that has received the logo in seconds.
* Software will install without worry. Applications and drivers are signed so that you know the file has not been tampered with and can trust there is no malware or spyware.

Windows stickers are fine with me, but I'm not a big fan of those ugly NVIDIA/AMD stickers, sadly they are there on the laptop too.

Actually I have put quite a few stickers on my laptop. Those give a geeky look to it. :D(not those NVIDIA/AMD kind.)

Some of the stickers are:
Ready for a new day laptop skin (Windows/Office/Exchange Server together).
I'M A PC stickers (4 of them, two on the back of the lid, two near the keyboard/touchpad).
SQL Server 2008 sticker.
Some text stickers.
Now waiting for some Windows 7 stickers/laptop skin to arrive! :)

In fact some of latest drivers were not digitally signed by MS although they are still compatible with Windows 7

i had one on a desktop, but it is such a universal OS machine (as is, it has about every Os in the universe on it :D ) i had to remove it, along with the WinXP sticker.

but seriously, apple give you stickers, ubuntu does so, and so does MS (already on the machine though). what is up with PCs and stickers?

Always look for this sticker if you are going to use 64-bit version of Windows 7 for avoiding any compatibility issue.
