I hope all the IE users would be using Google Chrome Frame plug-in which makes it possible to use Google Chrome rendering engine in Internet Explorer 6,7 or 8 for faster website loading and improved Javascript performance.
The most annoying part is that you have to add cf: in front of a URL to take advantage of Google Chrome Frame but a little register editing can force Internet Explorer to always use Google Chrome without adding cf: as a prefix.
Download this .reg file and simply double click on it.
ChromeFrame.zip (275bytes)
Number of downloads: 64
Or if you like to edit register yourself then follow this procedure:
Thanks to labnol.org
Open RegEdit.exe by typing it in your start menu or "Run"
Navigate to the following key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Google\ChromeFrame\OptInUrls Now delete the registry value that says *

Forcing it will be a Bad idea! Chrome isn't as advanced as IE. Chrome might be faster, but it doesn't have the plugins and advanced features that some sites need from IE.
A button would be great to have that when checked, surfs with google and unchecked surfs with IE. Maybe I need to make one.

Yeah, you're right. And if you can make a tool to check/uncheck, then it is highly apperciated. Very cool.

If you have a website then add this meta tag to the top of the page:
<meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="chrome=1">
Users running Internet Explorer with Google Chrome Frame installed will automatically have their pages rendered by Google Chrome Frame.

Am I the only one who doesn't have the ChromeFrame 'map' under Google in HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software?

I suggest another "compatibility mode"-style button, but on the toolbar.
Maybe a "Chrome Tab" addon for IE?

This is what I'm working on. Something you click when in color is active and when it's grayed it's inactive.

WTF? WebKit is the most advanced renderer there is. IE has to have a compatible mode because up until ver 8, it's rendering was incorrect and shit awful.
As far as the plugins and advanced features, look at how long IE has been around, and then realize that Chrome is not that old.
Seriously man. WTF. Chrome beats IE hands down. those needed extras are just that, extras. as in not needed to live and survive.
But in all honesty, ifyou want to use chrome frame, then skip the IE plugin, and just download chrome.

IE's Trident engine is more advanced and stable than Chromes. You know this In time, Chrome will grow to be even better, but so will IE. There has been plenty of sites that I've gotten the Chrome's:
(Chrome Example Note: Image from the web.)
(IE Trident Example. Yeah I had to plug the new YeoWorks Reference )
and I had to reload the page over and over and over again to make it show. Some sites don't even show everything. I have to use IE to just pull up a site or see all it's objects.
I agree that users should just install Chrome, but with this new IE Chrome feature they have a chance at keeping more space and using only one browser.
