or you can try viStart which is being upgraded to be 100% stable soon, viStart is my recommended choice:

You can add the desktop search tool bar to the left of the taskbar so that way it looks like it's in the start menu,

Pleas read what I say before posting advice. Vistart switches the entire start menu, doesn't just add the search engine. All I want is the vista search engine inside of my start menu.

Please look into the advice before typing out a naïve response. You can customise the theme of Vistart to make it look like the start menu of xp.

If I were him I wouldn't provide any personal assistance to you on IM, show some respect for trying to help at least.
One more thing, I've never heard of this so called "vista search engine" in a default XP startmenu, and I'm pretty sure it was never created and never will be. Either use a startmenu emulator/taskbar search app or upgrade.

Why are you trying to use an alienwareGUI with Vistart? This would of only required a bit of work if you thought it out properly but you managed to make a mess of it. I hope for your sake someone decides to help you out.
I'm quite new, I also hope that someone helps me. My aim is martaboyz@hotmail.com

If your that picky your should just pre-order windows 7 and wait, viStart is one of the little apps that will get it exactly like vista.
You can use Launcy or Google Desktop if you just need the Search indexing feature.
I want the search engine located exactly where vista search is at, thx for the info though.
Using an outdated OS you cant be that picky, nothing can be copied 100%.
I'd be happy to help you work out alternatives but you'll have to settle on exceptions.
