Snow Leopard lacks security features that are built in to Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7, a noted Mac researcher has said.

Dubbed ASLR, for address space layout randomisation, the technology randomly assigns data to memory to make it tougher for attackers to determine the location of critical operating system functions, and thus make it harder for them to craft reliable exploits.

"Apple didn't change anything," said Charlie Miller, of Baltimore-based Independent Security Evaluators, the co-author of The Mac Hacker's Handbook, and winner of two consecutive "Pwn2own" hacker contests. "It's the exact same ASLR as in Leopard, which means it's not very good."

What you guys don't realize is that we won't be hit by this "big" virus because there is no such thing and won't be for some long time. If you get a virus on a Mac you really don't know how browse and you should just give up on life.

I don't understand why somebody from Microsoft or something won't just make some big ass virus for a Mac that will make the news and screw over Mac.

If taken seriously, Microsoft is a big company and such issue could cause closure of Microsoft if proved to be true by evidence.

But anyway how exactly do you screw up Mac? can you hack a Mac and erase the hdd completely or dock porn in the OSX dock unsusceptibly?

It's really funny to read this when you know both systems. It's like a drowning man that tries to grab something to survive but it's clear that he will be swallowed by the sea as time goes on.

Lets see what 7 does in the future. Looking back on MS's track record I think you guys have nothing to scoff at.
