Remember the time when corporates held themselves on Windows XP and were waiting for the Vista Service Pack 1 release so that they could upgrade to a stable OS. Now when Windows 7 release is approaching too near, WinFuture reports, Microsoft is telling customers that there’s no need to wait for Windows 7 Service Pack 1. The new Windows OS is stable enough for every aspect.

Testers have been running the latest Windows client since Beta Build 7000 and through Release Candidate Build 7100 and the pre-RTM interim releases can confirm that Windows 7 is as stable as a rock.

What do you think? Have you ever encountered any issue on Windows 7 like incompatibility with your hardware or software, sudden reboot or BSOD?

when WindowsXP first came out, really, it was full of shit. WindowsXP was pretty much full of shit until service pack 2 came. It took 6 years, but windows XP service pack 3 is here, and WindowsXP is finally stable.

when Windows Vista came out, I was pleasantly surprised with how polished and refined it was. Sure, it had problems, but Vista RTM had far less problems then my copy of windows XP service pack 1a ever did. Vista's taken a downhill toll, but Vista is at service pack 2 now, and seriously, there's nothing wrong with it. In fact, my Vista service pack 2 is running at the speed of XP service pack 3. Vista took just 2 years to stabilize.

now we have Windows7. It virtually has no problem at all, especially if we were to compare it to its predecessors. Windows7 RTM runs at the same speed as Vista SP2, which is actually pretty much Windows XP's SP3 highly touted about speed today. Windows7 is stable as it is at RTM stage, and over the years, it is just going to get better.

I know this advice is for enterprises, and not for normal users...but for me, I didn't even wait for Windows 7 hitting RC before making it my primary OS...and have been running it full time since public Beta (actually even before that).

Moreover, many work/development machines inside Microsoft have already been upgraded to Windows 7. The stability of this OS is better than any other Windows version ever before, and it is ready for the prime time, Service Pack will only make it even better.

I voted yes because it's basically only a servicepack for Vista and Vista is stable now.

Windows 7 for me is as "Stable as a Rock" . I'm running it on all my friends netbooks, my MSI Wind, and my desktop. So far, no problems at all. This operating system is by far the best Microsoft have produced! Flawless!

Offtopic: Wow, its been a while since I've been on WM. I've missed you guys :D

I really like Windows 7 and it is very stable except for one time. The computer woke up from sleep and I got a KSOD. I tired many things with no luck. I had to re-install.

Other than that, it's been running very smoothly!

I think 7 is very stable. even the beta was stable. I'm still running the RC and have had no problems.

7 is the first Windows version that I love. MS impressed me since 7's beta with it's usability and stability. I'm using the RC now and will be getting one when it officially released then.

I had SRS Audio SandBox installed on my PC and sometimes the sound is gone until i restart my PC i don't know if it's an imcompatibility with the software or something wrong with the default driver, anyway it seems that the OS is much better than Vista because simply Microsoft need more than 7 years to make a stable OS, and if you agree with me Windows 7 is no longer than a refined Vista.

windows seven is obviously satble...it is not really a new O.S from microsoft but just a refined windows vista. if i were u i would wait till microsoft actually releases something new before passing judgement. For me personally, i just can't understand the hype surrounding seven cos it has been the most underwhelming experience i have had trying out a supposedly new product. there is just almost no difference to vista and i can't honestly find any good reason to upgrade other than vanity. xp users go for it by all means but vista men, it's a waste of ur money...wait for windows 8.
