Sorry for the double post, but WM is lagging...

BTW

Judging criteria would be:
Quality of the post, which would be indicative of the Reputation Points the post gets, from other members.

It is obvious that the first posters have a higher statistic chance of winning, which results in an unfair competition

Dont worry, it has later been posted that rep points wont matter and all entries will be evaluated in the same way.

The entire operating system is a favorite to me. Windows XP has become the standard worldwide for PC users due to it's fit and function, but it didn't start life that way and took years to mature into stability and diverse support. Seven is so stable and has such an expansive native support to hardware and software needs that is unmatched to date by any other OS from Microsoft or otherwise. With such a wide-array of support, one would expect a huge performance hit, but it is delightfully smooth and equivocally fast as XP if not slightly more so. Some may argue that the extensive period in Beta was an odd action on Microsoft's part but who can deny the end result or even the means during which they allowed so many people to openly experience Seven and all of it's many splenders.

The thing I like about Windows 7 is that it is overrated.

people at random are like raving for it I think this addiction is dumb since it is just an OS, not unlike cure for cancer, death of mj and birthday. This is just a release and everyone thinks it is like his birthday!

(by the way winboys, Apple is overrated too, but most people didn't celebrate it like their birthdays)

Did you check the entries with Facebook? Since I only count 34 of them referring to their post.
And I suppose those would list some invalid too which brings us to slightly above 30 eligible entries.

In an equal distribution everyone has 10% chance of winning, but if you compare yourself you can probably figure out what chance your post has. For example, if you think you are part of the top 10 posts you have 33% chance of winning. But enough with computing chances, let's see what three names will be taken out of the fish bowl!

Reason for edit: Slightly modified mistakes, made the post more consistent.

Thanks Dev for doing that, it would definitely help me out. :)

@NealTheGuitarist, you bet man! It's going to be really tough.

@TomWij, if the entries are good, they would be considered regardless of their mention on WinMatrix Facebook page.

offtopic: Sorry for being offtopic.

Shud all the posts of members with less than 10 posts be removed ?? That will cut some crap off this thread ...

BTW, there are a bunch of guest entries :P too that u people cant see coz I (or none of the other mods) have approved them. And some of them are really ridiculous

Hai Viewers,
Have nice day! This is one of the Best in our world operating system software in windows.
we are used the windows 3.7, 97, 98, 2000, 2003 server and XP, latest Vista to be used the software in the development of the focus in microsoft in windows.

this is best of our world. in the conuntry.

This post shud win something. Sounded like Borat to me ...

You know how hard I'm trying not to comment on some of the posts, since it would not be fair. But it looks like I missed out on Windows 3.7 and 97!!! Damn, where was I?

But let the posts be there, all of them, so that I might pick some that I ridiculously enjoyed reading the most. A little fun at the end of a workday doesn't hurt anyone! :)

lmao
I can't help thinking that this must be the work of one of my countrymen! (I'm Indian by the way...). This sounds a lot like Indian English :) (hope ppl take it in the right spirit)

Thanks you, Abhi, for that kind heart! I desperately need 7 but am not willing to cough up the dough as i bought vista out of compulsion only like 6 months back! :(

My favourite feature about Windows 7? Well, When vista came out, I could not install it to my desktop right away simply because i had 512 mb ram. As i wasn't willing to install those super light weight Vista Ultimate (1 cd? wonder how they squeezed it in), i had to go without.
I have a laptop now with 3 gigs of ram, but I am happy that MS learned their lessons and Seven can install on a 512 mb ram system and run smoothly. Thats efficient coding and that i think is a rather nice thing about 7 apart from the oft-repeated Superbar and Aero Peek/snap features.

Also, I am a supporter of labels organisation of gmail. If u ask me, I would rather not have folders at all and just organise stuff by attributing labels, because, folders are quite rigid and i often find myself thinking that a particular file really belongs to more than one folder. The Label approach eliminates the need to duplicate the file and one can get the desired effect by simply attributing more than one labels to that file. The closest way to achieve that till now are shortcuts which i place in the folders where i think its applicable. But I find this approach rather cumbersome. Now, in Seven, with Libraries, labels have been implemented partly.

I have one more but i am withholding that one so that others may get a chance to post it. I'll post it if no one else does at the end of the contest.

Hope the best Winmatrixcian wins! (oh screw it... i hope i win ). Fingers crossed!

I do not see a point, anyone can get the serial key for free [officially] here at http://www.microsoft...t/download.aspx

Wow! dude, Win 7 keys for RTM. How many would, do you think, go through with it if it was that easy? How many guests do you think Winmatrix convert to members if that were the case?

I do not understand what is the big deal with WIN7 ?
You still need to run antivirus , antispyware , defrag HD , clean registry and so on .
As far as performance goes , with mess that Vista was , it is easy to speak about improvements when your bar is set so low .Maybe now it will be as fast as XP was.
As for eyecandy , Mac level is still out of reach for MS folk and Compiz in linux is preaty damn good to .
So i guess MS still ha lots of work to do , but i am glad they are improving .

WTF!?

Go and use a Linux if you find trouble with using Microsoft's OS's.

I just don't get it why you guys complain about Microsoft so much. They try to make the easiest OS and you guys are always complaining about them.

It's just totally unfair! At least they are the inventors of modern GUI OS's!

oh come now Andrey. Compiz may be good effect wise, but it sure is a bit crash prone. Vista SP2 is yet to crash once on my laptop. (using it for about 2 months now). And Vista may have many OSX clone features but don't you think superbar, the jumplists and the Aero peek/snap features of seven are cool? And does compiz have an equivalent for aero peek? i am not sure, but snap been there for a while.(although not as useful) Seven may still be behind leopard eyecandy wise, but not all of us are willing to pay that kind of money for it.

Wow...some really nice posts there!
This is getting tougher now...would be fun judging, still quite some time left. :)

you said it mate! Being one of the last ones to post, i was kinda lucky just to come up with something. :)

Oh well! I was going to wait, but now that its closed. My other favourite feature was that Win 7 explorer allows us to organise our bookmark links. This puzzled me because Win XP places was organisable into folders. They committed a blunder by dropping this in Vista.

@ Abhi:
Seems the contest got locked as i was updating my post. Will it be considered? :o Please do know that i'm in a net cafe and the keyboard is a bit faulty so hopefully my latest post will be considered... :)

Windows 7, the new Microsoft operation system, introduces lost of new feature significantly improve the user experience and also enhanced the usability of old features that were parts windows operation system family. Four areas windows 7 have progressed are: personalization, compatibility, performance and the user interface.

With lots of feasting themes and wallpapers, the windows 7 allows the user to customize the desktop working environment without heavily relying on third-party customization program. The themes are categorized by feels, colors and even region that guarantee the satiety of taste for any user. And if the user feels that the themes that comes with the operation system does not comply with his taste, he can creates his own theme and wallpaper, and better yet can even share them with other user. And there is an option that allows the wallpaper to automatically change. And if the user still feels the need to use third customization application, Windows 7 will support any application with its core compatibility.

While Vista was heavily rejected and critic for the lack of compatibility with drivers and applications that work on windows XP, windows 7 has gained a better reputation in that category. Unlike a feature like the super bar that user can visually noticed, compatibility in windows 7 is a feature that accommodates users with support for both old application and devices. And with the new device stage, support and managing devices has significantly improved in windows 7. And all devices that work with windows 7 are now more responsive without sacrificing on another key component of the operation system: performance.

While benchmark test show that windows XP has surpassed windows 7 in performance, yet the operation system feels more responsive than any of its siblings. Windows 7 shutdown, upload faster. And putting the operation into standby more seems to be instant. And also the user has the option to disable application that auto-start, thereby gaining in start up time or resuming from standby mode. The action center is another feature that gives the user the option to repair or notice anything abnormality with the operation system. One instance is that action center will notify the user if there no anti-virus, new updates or any that issues affecting and contributing to the overall performance of the operation system. And with the new improved power management, windows 7 will improve the durability of battery life, an advantage that morstly users with portable computer will certainly appreciate.

Plus, managing media and finding personal file have become easier with the improved windows media player and the built-in search. Yet, among all the new features that windows 7 come with, the new user interface is what I like the most. With feature like aero peek, the jumplist and the windows media interface, conducting common tasks like working with word document, using internet explorer and finding open window on the desktop has noticeably improved. The user can preview, open and organized task better and find common task with the new control panel interface.

I really like to be considerd cause I feel like that I have a chance winning one of the keys. Let me now. I live on a different time zone and I do not really know what time from my time zone to the contest time zone.

Abhi is offline, so I might as well answer the questions-
There was a link in the first post to the times it would be ending according to your time zone. Plus, one of the rules was that you had to have 10 or more posts before you entered the contest.
Wish you were able to enter, your entry was pretty good too. :(
