I feel the rep of 1000+post members (which counts me out :P ), shud be upped to 100 only this one time coz this rep system really feels unfair. I mean if we are going to value this system, members like Villain shud have 200 rep points.

Untill that happens this system is all bogus to me.

If think quality > quantity. The number of post are already stated complete with stars, so no need for reputation for number of posts (we all have a fresh start).

Some goods point have been raised bout the usage of the button: simple +1 for good post or a way of saying thanks. I like the last, but the first is more flexible.

turn the increments into 10 points so people are more psychologically motivated. It was said that high numbered scores enhance a gamers enthusiasm, It might just work here too.

so it will be like I have +580 rep beat my highscore contest.

Sound like a good idea, I think you should drop the rep numbers and give like badges,

Like 10-15 is good contributer etc, much like right now 10+ marks you as "good" however I think the number should be hidden and only shows up on a mouse over.

I dont think removing the -rep button was a solution to the problem at hand but rather a catalyst. Now instead of people +rep and -repping they will just positive rep on a post that slightly seems signifigant. I dont know how to stop the abuse of the rep system but you need to make something that shows posters the signifigance of the two buttons.

We have only used WM 3.3 for a while now, and a lot of biases about the rep system are showing. We can try the rep system longer and find out how the community responds then, not after a couple of weeks. Too many people already feel negative about the rep system (from experience), and they are entitled to their opinion, but we should be able to experiment with this in WM. We have a great community here and we are a mature community. We can handle a rep system properly if we all just take it one step at a time to make it work. I don't think Jatin would have implemented this system if he didn't think we couldn't handle it.
