[Customize Desktop] Fresh Ubuntu 9.04 Rate Topic: ***** 1 Votes

1. Emerald Theme:
You need have to install Emerald on your Ubuntu. Find it somewhere !!!
Double Click on Overglass.emerald to install theme.

2. Theme and Icons:
Theme: Right click on your desktop > go to Theme > Choose Dark Room theme (available).
Icons: In the same place > Click Install > Navigate Mashup icon.
Customize > Icon and set Mashup.

3. Panel Background:
Right Click on Panel > Panel Properties> Check Background Image > Browse to common.png
Do it with bottom Panel again.

4. Gnomenu:
First, you have to install Gnomenu > Right click on Panel > Add to Panel > Add Gnomenu.
Right Click on Gnomenu button > Preference > Panel Button > choose Glass-Ubuntu. After that, move Gnomenu to bottom Panel.

5. Transparent:
Install Compiz first > Opacity > New > set as picture.

Awesome guide! Where did you find Overglass; Compiz-themes.org? And I was looking for something like a Windows menu for Linux. Now I know about Gnomenu! Where did you hear of that one? :D

Thank you, when I recover vista I'm going to erase windows 7 and put ubuntu on :)


Is it possible to make the bottom panel stretch the whole screen? and also does it expand when the buttons fill the 'taskbar'

How'd you get the transparency... is it just the opacity settings in Compiz or something, or did you use Murrine or something like that?

Thanks, AMIRZ :P Now, I will use Ubuntu more, because I learn Oracle :lol: Using oracle in Ubuntu will be better than Windows.
