But keep at it, and maybe you will strike gold sometime. (or is it galleons? )

The gold needs improvment, like for the close,min/max buttons you should make them look like they were carved into the gold title bar of the window.

DONT USE THE VISTA LOOK! the vista aero look looks best as light and glassy but you gold theme should use the XP look which looks more 'solid' you have an original idea but your not using original resources. Dont use the vista button use like a gold coin for a start button with the windows logo engraved in.

You can make the gold theme awsome but half-assing it is going to get bad responses.
