I was expecting another Laptop Hunter ad but this time Microsoft's latest 30-second spot features Wes Moss, Certified Financial Planner, explaining that iTunes "costs a lot" while Zune Pass "costs a little."



Wes Moss points out that filling a 120 GB iPod at iTunes costs $30,000. But you can get the same amount of songs, and millions more, for just $14.99 a month with Zune Pass.

I like this ad, mostly because it mocks apple.
Also Zune pass doesn't seem too bad, i mean for people who just can't pirate it's pretty reasonable to download unlimited music at that cost.

correct me if i am wrong ( i am not a zune user) but doesn't the zune pass only allow you to dl music to your zune, and not to be burned to cd's or played on other devices, and also all your songs become unplayable when your zune pass expires. you have to purchase the songs/albums/shows for a set price to get them without "drm" to be able to burn and etc...
i think that what i read when i was choosing my portable, i got an ipod which is now an external harddrive for me instead...

"I'm PC", "Laptop Hunter" and this ad is Microsoft's appropriate reply to Apple's "Mac vs PC" ad.

Microsoft is clear winner in this ad war.

Really? I've never used the Zune Marketplace or whatever they call it, and I rarely use the iTunes Store, but if you burn it to a CD then wouldn't you be able to listen to it forever?

Also forgetting they let give you 10 drm free songs for free a month and drm free songs are only 99cents a piece where as Apple's are $1.20

And anyone notice the irony of this Actor saying I don't have $30,000 lying around for music lmfao.

Well, no company is going to mention pirating. And getting unlimited music for the cost for a 2nd rate artist's album is pretty good. It isn't for only your zune, it is also for your pc. So if want to DOWNLOAD the songs legally, you could get a program to record the sound coming from your computer and burn that to a CD. I don't think it is legal, but it has a better moral value than downloading illegally.

Yes but Zune Marketplace has basically all the songs the only songs that might be missing are will probably be rarer songs.

Microsoft can have this market if they can appeal to the Junior High and High Schoolers.

It only takes a couple popular kids to set a trend and then its a snowball effect from there.
